What is Psychospiritual Counselling?
Psychospiritual counsellors co-create and hold a sacred space for the personal unfoldment of meaning and self-exploration for their clients. They see that all life is inherently personal, but also interconnected. They support clients to build their own unique, flowing relationship with spirituality and the world around them, organically, without force.
Spiritual counselling takes the soul rather than the mind as it’s starting point. It has an expanded view of life, recognising that the world is a complex mystery and considers belief systems, personal energy systems, subconscious states of awareness, spiritual theology, spiritual presence, and higher self-connections.
The aim is for clients to express themselves and their world with intimate wisdom, spiritual awareness, and personal authenticity, using integrity and wise use of their spiritual gifts, skills, and knowledge.
In Spiritual Counselling the emphasis is on dealing with the whole person and assisting the client with however the symptoms appear. Each client is seen as an individual and sessions are non-prescriptive and individually tailored. The counsellor responds to immediate issues brought by the client and supports and trusts the client’s process.

How I Work
I hold safe space for each client to explore whatever they wish to look at in their lives. I work in conventional counselling ways and use spiritual tools to explore any aspect that is stopping them from expressing their true nature in the now.
Being in balance, resonance, and reconciling the internal and external conflicts is foundational for health and wellbeing, and returning to our true, creative state. Journeying to the depths, experiencing suffering and extreme states are sometimes necessary for growth, yet returning to balance, understanding the cycles of our lives, and bringing back gifts from all the dross is also foundational for health and longevity.
Approach
Thomas integrates multiple therapeutic approaches to provide comprehensive support to his clients. These include:
Transpersonal Therapy: Thomas believes that many issues in today’s world are tracked back to being out of balance with our spiritual heritage. We tune into that part of ourselves which is waiting for us to reconnect and explore our unconscious selves, our past, issues existing in this world and all our relationships in a creative way.
Person-Centred Approach (PCA): He believes in the innate capacity of individuals to find their own solutions and works to create a safe and empathetic environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment.
Gestalt Therapy: Thomas incorporates techniques from Gestalt therapy to help clients develop self-awareness, explore unresolved issues, and foster personal growth by focusing on the present moment and the client’s experience in the here and now.
Shadow Work: Shadow Work techniques are used to identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviours, equipping clients with practical tools to manage their emotions and overcome obstacles.
Art Therapy: Exploring our issues using many creative methods to unblock and expand ourselves consciously and unconsciously in a safe and positive space.
Face to face and Online:
Thomas offers both face-to-face and online counselling sessions to accommodate client’s preferences and needs.
Face-to-face sessions offer a more traditional approach for those who prefer in-person interaction.
In contrast, online sessions provide convenience and accessibility, allowing clients to engage in therapy from the comfort of their own space.
Areas of Experience:
Thomas has experience of working with individuals facing a variety of challenges, including:
Spiritual Disconnection
Bereavement
Low Self-Esteem
Childhood Neglect and Trauma
Anxiety & Low Mood
Depression
ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder)
Relationship Challenges
Finding the Right Counsellor
Successful therapy depends on a strong connection between the client and the therapist. Many clients find it valuable to look for a therapist who has specialized knowledge of the specific challenge for which they’re seeking treatment. Asking detailed questions about a counsellor’s credentials, experience, and therapy process can help someone identify the practitioner who is best suited to their needs.
Call me to discuss your needs and whether I am the right counsellor for you.
